Introducing and Coaching Girls' Rugby
Face to Face Event
with Dan Cottrell
Dates & Venues
This coaching day is intended for coaches who are introducing rugby to girls, or involved in running girls’ teams in schools. It emphasises the challenges in presenting the game to girls, and how these may differ from coaching the boys’ game. The course illustrates ways to build a strong and supportive environment for players: it considers the starting plan and the importance of the early sessions. It looks at the ways to establish a successful programme, which includes inter-school competition. Although the laws of the game are the same, its character can be very different for girls. The course will suggest coaching priorities, with lots of practical examples, drills, games and fun activities.
