Course Description

Movement plays a vital role in the physical, social and cognitive development of young children. This course is designed to help teachers develop the knowledge and confidence to deliver purposeful movement activities within the school setting. Suitable for both specialist and non-specialist teachers, it explores how movement supports physical development, communication, learning and wellbeing. Teachers will be introduced to a wide range of practical activities, games and play-based approaches that promote engagement and progression. The course also provides a clear planning framework to help teachers create inclusive, enjoyable learning experiences that enable every child to develop confidence and achieve success through movement.

Meet your course leader, Lesley Minervini

Lesley Minervini has over 25 years of experience working in education, and has worked with teachers throughout the world. She has authored many resources and courses including – Start to Move cards, Healthy Movers Take Home Pack , Purposeful Playtimes and PE Underpinning Achievement. She is the tutor trainer for British Athletics officials and officiates in Athletics around the world.
