This seminar is designed for newly appointed Co-Curricular Deputy and Assistant Heads, as well as teachers aspiring to these leadership roles. As responsibility for co-curricular provision continues to evolve within schools, the course provides practical guidance on establishing priorities, leading change and delivering a high-quality programme. Delegates will explore the purpose of the role, effective approaches to planning and quality assurance, and strategies for monitoring success across the school. The seminar also addresses common operational challenges, communication with colleagues and stakeholders, and the leadership and people management skills required to build an engaging, well-organised and successful co-curricular programme.

Richard Biggs, former Headmaster King's College

Meet your course leader, Richard Biggs

Richard Biggs was Headmaster of King’s College, Taunton for 15 years, having previously been Deputy Head at Lancing. He is a graduate of Oxford and Cape Town Universities, and a firm believer in the value of team games and sports in schools. He coached Hockey and tennis teams throughout his career in schools, including as a Head and was extensively involved in school music.

Cancelling within 14 days of the event incurs a fee, £30 per person for online courses and webinars, or £100 per person (per day, for multi-day events) for in-person courses.
