Many teachers involved in school Netball are also required to umpire matches, often in front of parents and spectators, which can be a challenging experience for those with limited officiating experience. Changes to the rules in recent years have added further complexity. This half day course is designed to develop teachers’ confidence and competence in umpiring, helping them to create a positive, safe and enjoyable environment for players and spectators. Delegates will develop a clear understanding of the rules, as well as practical guidance on managing and scoring school matches effectively. Combining classroom learning with practical application, the course also explores how rules can be adapted for younger players and lower ability groups to ensure the game remains inclusive, flows effectively and supports player development.
