National Conference for Leaders of Outdoor Activities in Schools - Friday 6 June 2025
Dates & Venues

The Co-Curriculum remains a point of difference for independent schools in a challenging financial climate. Outdoor activities are a central part of this provision for the great majority of schools, and are a valued part of both the educational offer and the business case. These programmes are more important than they have ever been.

The challenges of providing meaningful adventure education in a heavily regulated environment are constant. Presenting perceived risk within a risk-averse sector is a constant dilemma for programme designers.

This year’s Conference will seek to balance possibility with prudence. It will consider how adventure can be presented to make it appealing, relevant and exciting within a context which observes the highest standards of compliance. Expectations of planning and risk management are constantly evolving, making it necessary for programme leaders to ensure that their knowledge and operations reflect current best practice.

As always, the Conference will bring together like-minded professionals for an inspiring day of new approaches and provide reassurance that programmes are compliant by contemporary standards.
