    This year’s Conference will be presented by two of England’s most prominent players and coaches of recent generations. They will present a wide range of drills and practices to illustrate how fundamental skills can be developed in the youngest players. Effective team play depends upon high quality basic skills, and the programme will demonstrate how these can be introduced and developed. Prep school coaches can become confident that their sessions, practices and techniques reflect everything that is current in the contemporary game.

    Sonia Mkoloma

    Sonia Mkoloma

    Sonia Mkoloma is the new Head Coach of Super League newcomers, Birmingham Panthers. For the last four years, she has been the Head Coach of the England Netball Player Pathway (also known as Roses Development Framework – a structured pathway from grassroots to elite). A former international Netballer, with 129 caps for England, she won three World Championship and two Commonwealth Games Medals in a 15 year career playing at the top level in UK and Australia. In 2013, she was inducted into the England Netball Hall of Fame.

    Amanda Newton

    Amanda Newton

    Amanda Newton is a former international Netball captain with 100 caps. She was a member of the England teams that won medals at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and at the 1999 World Netball Championships, before captaining England at the 2007 World Netball Championships. Between 2001 and 2010 she played in seven Super League finals, and won four national titles. She has coached England teams at both senior and youth levels, as coach of the medal-winning team at 2015 World Championships, and also the England youth team which toured New Zealand in 2017. She has extensive experience of the school game, at all ages.
