Whether you're leading a Duke of Edinburgh expedition, running a CCF contingent, or making the case in the staffroom for why learning should sometimes happen beyond the classroom walls, you know that the outdoors changes young people in ways little else can. This conference brings together the people who make that happen: school staff, teachers, instructors, and Heads of Outdoor Education who work every day to build confidence, character, and resilience in the next generation.
Hosted by Alleyn's School and opened by Head Jane Lunnon, this conference is an opportunity to learn from leading voices, including Dr John Allan on building resilience for 21st-century learners, Scott Benest on getting the most from your CCF, and Louise Edwards on embedding an outdoor learning approach across your school. Julian Penney of Pharos Response will then look at managing risk and reputation in education travel, before leading Visit Emergency, a real-time incident simulation that puts you in the middle of a developing outdoor incident. Would you know what to do?
Throughout the day, our exhibitors, Access and The Outdoor Company, will be on hand, so it's also a chance to pick up some good deals on expedition kit and staff clothing. Above all, it's a chance to network with fellow practitioners, share ideas, swap stories, and leave with practical inspiration to take back to your own students.
