This well-established course is designed for teachers who are either new to coaching and umpiring hockey or returning to the school game after a break. It offers a practical introduction to contemporary coaching methods, alongside key tactical insights for effective team play. Participants will gain the confidence to nurture individual player development while also preparing school teams for competitive matches. The course features ten structured training games, along with guidance on planning sessions for both 7-a-side and 11-a-side formats.
For those umpiring school matches, the course equips teachers with the knowledge and assurance to officiate school fixtures, particularly at younger age groups or beginner levels. It provides all the essential tools for novice coaches to make a meaningful impact in school hockey.
