This course will qualify you to teach gymnastics within a primary school environment. Suitable for teachers and teaching assistants who hold a QTS or formal qualification, or for individuals working towards these qualifications. You will learn how to support participants in fun floor skills, acrobatics and rhythmic elements. The two-day course will provide you with the confidence to deliver quality gymnastics sessions during curriculum time and in an after school club environment.
- Floor skills
- Vaulting (basic)
- Acrobatic/rhythmic/aerobic gymnastics
- Develop the necessary skills required to teach set moves
- Give you the ability to incorporate apparatus and sequencing into lessons
- Help you to understand and underpin good body management
- Teach you how to identify and remedy common faults
- How to set up a club (including school/club links)

Gary Kirby
Gary Kirby was a GB international gymnast. He is an International Performance Coach, and has coached medallists in both Olympic Games and World Championships. He was appointed men’s Technical Director at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, and was subsequently Gymnastics Development Officer for Liverpool. He is one of Britain’s leading Gymnastics judges, having officiated at World and European Championships and two Commonwealth Games

Arrival for registration at 8.30am, course runs 9am – 3/3.30pm. Prices include refreshments, lunch and British Gymnastics resource pack and certificate. In the event of you needing to cancel a place on this course, please note we require 4 weeks notice. Price excludes VAT.
