This two-day course qualifies secondary teachers to deliver Gymnastics safely and confidently at Key Stages 3 and 4, with content appropriate for GCSE PE. Delegates will develop core movements into progressive floor and apparatus skills, with a strong emphasis on safe practice, effective teaching and skill development. Accredited by British Gymnastics, the course is suitable for teachers and teaching assistants who hold Qualified Teacher Status or a recognised teaching qualification, as well as those working towards these qualifications. It meets Local Authority, academy trust and independent school insurance requirements for the teaching of Gymnastics. All courses are delivered by British Gymnastics approved tutors and include the Governing Body's comprehensive resource pack.

Course Leaders

Gary Kirby

Gary kirby was a GB international gymnast. He is an International Performance Coach, and has coached medallists in both Olympic Games and World Championships. He was appointed men’s Technical Director at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, and was subsequently Gymnastics Development Officer for Liverpool. He is one of Britain’s leading Gymnastics judges, having officiated at World and European Championships and two Commonwealth Games.
