This course equips inexperienced teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to introduce players to the hard ball game. Suitable for teachers and coaches with some cricket experience and a basic understanding of the sport, it demonstrates effective teaching methods to support the transition from soft ball skills.

How to run a net session effectively
The transition from soft to hard ball cricket

Progressive batting drills and techniques
Introduction to protective equipment

Course Leaders

Lydia Greenway

Lydia represented England during a career spanning 13 years with 225 appearances in all formats of the game. One of the most capped players to play for England. Lydia played an integral part in winning both the 50 over and T20 ICC World Cups in 2009. Lydia is also a five times Ashes winner. Lydia has built and developed 'Cricket for Girls' which specialises in supporting schools and clubs in the development of women and girls' cricket. She also coaches Mumbai Indians fielding coach in the Womens Premier League and previously worked with the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash. She continues to commentate on the game for both Sky and BBC.
